SMARTCyp is a method for prediction of which sites in a molecule that are most liable to metabolism by Cytochrome P450. It has been shown to be applicable to metabolism by the isoforms 1A2, 2A6, 2B6, 2C8, 2C19, 2E1, and 3A4 (CYP3A4), and a specific model for the isoform 2D6 (CYP2D6) is included from version 2.0. CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 are two of the most important enzymes in drug metabolism since they are involved in the metabolism of half, and 25% of the drugs used today, respectively.

The web server now uses the ChemDoodle 2D sketcher, making it compatible with mobile devices and touch screen interfaces. The SMARTCyp HTML output is now generated using HTML5 and canvas drawings using the ChemDoodle Web Components to display molecules. This makes the generation of HTML output ten times faster (and atom number display is now compatible with touch screen interfaces).
